MARCH UPDATE
Welcome to your March Update for the 2025 EGU General Assembly, to be held 27 April–2 May 2025, both on-site in Vienna, Austria, and virtually. To keep you up to date, we will be sending you important EGU25 [2] information ‘EGU25 Updates’ at least once per month – at the beginning of the month. You will still receive direct emails when tasks have a specific deadline, so make sure you check your spam folders and settings so that you don’t miss anything!
FOR CONVENERS
* Session organisation [3] tool ‘SOIII – Presentation selection’ must be completed by 5 March 2025. Conveners can organize the order of the
presentations in their sessions, add subtitles and, when relevant, include short-duration discussions.
* You can contact your authors using the Mailing Tool [4] to make sure their presentation is displayed with the right status (on-site or virtual), and for any additional information you wish to convey.
* Conveners must assign a chairperson to attend and co-ordinate eachvpart of their session, for both on-site and virtual presentations. Seevthe convener guidelines [5] for more information.
* If you require a letter of invitation [6], final requests for these must be received by 31 March 2025, 13:00 CEST. For more tips for travelling with a visa, check out the EGUblog post “Navigating visa requirements for attending the EGU General Assembly in Austria” [7].
* The letter of schedule [8] will be sent out to authors on 14 March, with information about the scheduled day and time of your session. The full meeting programme will be available on the EGU25 website on the same day.
* The EGU25 app and personal programme will be available soon, watch the EGU25 website [9] for release information.
* The OSPP nominator tool [4] will open on the 1 April, session conveners need to ensure at least 3 judges are assigned to each OSPP presentation [10]. Check the convener guidelines [5] for more information.
* Looking to learn more about the various hybrid presentation formats? Check out the information about the oral presentation [11], poster presentation [12], and PICO presentation [13] on the EGU25 website.
* If you are a convener of a US/GDB session, the SOIII tool will also be open for you to enter your panel speakers and your planned timing. You can also login and adjust the session description using the Session Modification [4] tool. Please ensure that your panel is, at the minimum, following our recommendations for speaker diversity [14].
* Last chance for early-bird registration [15] on the EGU25 website! Choose the right fee option for you, early-bird registration is available until 31 March 2025, 13:00 CEST.
* Already registered for on-site participation? Check your name badge [16] information and add stickers to indicate your Division, employment status and more!
* The EGU25 mentoring scheme [17] is now open for mentors and mentees, apply by 17 March 2025!
* Childcare slots will open for booking on 17 March 2025 after the letter of schedule has been sent out. For additional childcare support options, please visit the Childcare services page. [18]
* Take the opportunity to connect on a specific topic by applying for a Splinter Meeting [19]! Commercial Splinter Meeting requests are available from 17 March 2025.
